The Audi manufacturer decided to keep up with the world leaders and competed with them. Unveiling the H-Tron Quattro concept model powered by hydrogen at the Detroit Auto Show.

Audi's latest concept, the h-tron quattro, surprised many. On the first day of the Detroit auto show, Audi unveiled their hydrogen-powered model. Thus, competing with Toyota, Honda for the main developers in this direction.

You can not rush to say that in a month this hydrogen-powered Audi will be on sale in car dealerships, but the foundation for development in this direction has been laid.

The Audi h-tron quattro concept is based on the MLB Evo platform, which has already been mentioned in the new Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. We can say that the new SUV is quite spacious, its length is 4.88 m, width is 1.93 m, and height is 1.54 m.

In the interior of the Audi h-tron quattro, the large OLED display in the middle and the touch control of the climate control attract the attention. The steering wheel resembles a steering wheel from a racing car, not round, but oval. Behind the headrests of the front seats, there is also an OLED display that does not depend on one thing. In other words, the passengers sitting behind can look each one to himself and not depend on each other.

The technology of the future interior does not end there, the new h-tron quattro concept has received the latest Audi autopilot technology. The system uses radar in conjunction with perimeter cameras, sensors and a monitor. All this, together with the software, is an autopilot.

The first production model to receive this latest system will be the next generation of the Audi A8. According to the manufacturers, this system will be able to drive the car at speeds up to 60 km / h. The appearance of the h-tron quattro is somewhat similar to the Audi Q7, only with smoother and more stretched shapes, but with a slightly elongated rear, unusual for SUVs. The SUV attracts with its bright yellow new color, which the manufacturer has named Citrine Yellow. Compared to other SUV concepts, the Audi h-tron quattro inspires an electronics of the future that is likely to be used outside of this concept alone.

Regardless of the shape of the concept and what is in the cabin, the most interesting is always under the hood. The Audi h-tron quattro concept has two electric motors. One was located at the front of the car, with a capacity of 121 hp. while the second, located behind, is capable of delivering 188 hp. The hydrogen plant is capable of accelerating the concept from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 7 seconds. Thanks to the combined torque of two electric motors delivering 550 Nm.

For unknown or hidden reasons, the top speed is electronically limited to 200 km / h. The two electric motors are powered by a battery located under the passenger seat. The weight of the battery is about 60 kg. and is capable of delivering up to 100 kW of power. The battery in the Audi Concept is a multi-charge and self-charging battery that draws power directly from the tank using generated hydrogen. One gas station is enough to drive 600 km.

In the concept, Audi has not been without air suspension; if necessary, it can independently adjust the vehicle's ground clearance depending on the speed. According to the manufacturer, this suspension is capable of lowering the concept up to 30 centimeters from the ground, for better aerodynamics at high speeds. According to analysts, this concept is indeed the car of the future, despite the body being modified.
