The first two months of winter in 2019 brought their own adjustments to the Ukrainian automotive market. Some brands dropped out of the rating altogether, while others, on the contrary, became more popular. As the statistics of Ukravtoprom show, during these months 11,000 new cars have left on the roads of Ukraine.
1. New Renault Duster
The compact crossover Renault Duster occupies an unchanging position of the leader. According to the available rating information, in the first two months there were sold 703 cars this model. In the automotive market of Ukraine, a crossover can be bought at a price 393 900 UAH ($ 14590), top-end equipment Renault Duster will cost from 624800 UAH ($ 23140).
You can choose one of 4 trim levels, although if you take into account the engine, then there are 14 different options. Among the units, both gasoline and diesel are available. 2. Crossover Kia Sportage

3. Compact Renault Logan
Renault Logan took the third position in the rating of the most popular (bought) cars in Ukraine. Dealerships managed to realize in the first months of winter 476 vehicles this model. In terms of transmission, in most configurations, the manufacturer installs a variator, only the basic configuration, as an exception, will receive a 6-speed manual transmission.
5. Hyundai Tucson 2018
The Korean crossover Hyundai Tucson 2018 closes the top five in the rating. Statistics show that since the beginning of the year it has been sold 398 cars... The start of the price of the Korean crossover begins from 627000 UAH ($ 23223), top option from 1,043,200 UAH ($ 38,640).
According to the technical characteristics, the buyer is offered to choose between two gasoline engines, the T-GDi or MPi family, with a volume of 1.6 or 2.0 liters, respectively, as well as a CRDi diesel unit with a volume of 2.0 liters. In a pair to the engine, two transmission options are available: a 7-speed robotic DCT or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
6. Nissan Qashqai 2018
The second five leaders of the rating are opened by the compact crossover Nissan Qashqai. According to available information, since the beginning of the year, dealerships have implemented 398 cars this model. Basic equipment will cost from 493 560 UAH ($ 18280), the top version starts from 753 260 UAH ($ 27898).With regard to technical characteristics, under the hood, the manufacturer proposes to install a diesel engine (the so-called 130th), or gasoline engines, with a volume of 1.2 and 2.0 liters. The diesel and the basic gasoline unit will be paired with a 6-speed manual or Xtronic. The top-end gasoline unit is only an automatic transmission Xtronic. By type, it is also available only on the front axle or an all-wheel drive version.
7. Toyota Camry sedan
Among the many crossovers, the seventh position in the rating was shared by the Toyota Camry sedan. The Japanese-made model turned out to be no less popular in Ukraine, according to the available rating information, in two months of winter, dealerships implemented 306 cars this model. The starting price of the sedan is from 782 870 UAH ($ 28995), the top version of the sedan starts from 1011560 UAH ($ 37465).
In total, the buyer can choose from three basic configurations: Elegance, Premium and Comfort. Unlike other countries, the variety of technical characteristics of the sedan is not greater. The choice is a VVT-i gasoline engine with a volume of 2.5 liters. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
8. Nissan X-Trail 2018
The eighth position in the rating of the most popular cars in Ukraine was given to the Nissan X-Trail crossover. In the updated body, the model is not yet available in Ukraine, nevertheless it is in good demand. Since the beginning of the year, dealerships have implemented 295 copies... Starting price starts from 550 270 UAH ($ 20 380), top version from 902 460 UAH ($ 33 243).
For crossover units, the choice consists of two gasoline and one diesel engine. Gasoline with a volume of 2.0 and 2.5 liters, with a mechanical 6-speed or automatic Xtronic transmission. The diesel engine, with a volume of 1.6 liters, will also receive a pair of automatic Xtronic or a 6-speed manual transmission. The transmission of torque to the wheels depends on the configuration, the basic options received front-wheel drive, the top-end configurations are all-wheel drive.
9. New Skoda Octavia
The penultimate ninth position of the rating was taken by another Skoda Octavia sedan. Considering the cars listed above, it can already be concluded that the popularity of sedans is falling. In the first two months of winter, the manufacturer managed to sell 258 cars of this model, but the dealerships did not specify in which body the car is more popular.
The buyer's choice is offered in 2 bodies, a sedan and a station wagon (Combi). Sedan price starts from 457080 UAH ($ 16930), station wagon price from 558294 UAH ($ 20680)... The units offer gasoline and diesel engines. Gasoline families TSI and MPI, with a volume of 1.4 liters, 1.6 liters and 1.8 liters. The diesel unit is one - TDI, with a volume of 2.0 liters. There is no less variety in the transmission, they offer a choice of 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions, as well as 6 or 7 tbsp. As for the drive type, both body options are available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
10. New Renault Sandero
The modern Renault Sandero closes the rating of the most popular cars in Ukraine. Since the new 2019, the manufacturer was able to implement in Ukraine 248 cars... The compact hatchback is offered in three basic trim levels, but considering the variety of engines, there will be 7 trim levels to choose from. Starting price starts from UAH 292 900 ($ 10848), top option from UAH 336,300 ($ 12455).
According to the technical characteristics, the car is proposed to be equipped with one of two gasoline units (1.0 or 0.9 liters) or a diesel unit (1.5 liters). A 5-speed manual or robotic transmission is available in pair with the engine.
Having considered the rating of the most popular cars in Ukraine in the first months of 2019, we can conclude that crossovers are the most popular. Renault remains the most popular brand, presenting three models in the ranking at once.Toyota and Nissan presented two models in the ranking. According to statistics from Ukravtoprom, this year the market for new cars amounted to 66% (for the same period last year 52%).
