In November 2016, in Cologne, Ford unveiled a crossover version of the popular Fiesta hatchback, dubbed the Ford Fiesta Active. The novelty differs from the usual Fiesta by the presence of additional plastic protection in the lower part of the body, roof rails, a modified false radiator grille and increased ground clearance.

The "junior" diesel engine accelerates to a hundred in 12.6 seconds. and develops a maximum speed of 170 km / h, while the "senior" shoots up to hundreds in 9.4 seconds. and can reach a maximum of 190 km / h. Combined fuel consumption varies between 4.2-4.4 liters per 100 km.

Customers are offered a choice of 6-speed "mechanics" and 6-position "automatic", and for the latter it is proposed to install paddle shifters for gear selection.

The "Active" modification is based on a conventional Ford Fiesta bogie, represented by an independent front and semi-independent rear suspension with MacPherson struts and a transversely placed torsion beam, respectively.

Despite the fact that the "Active" version is positioned as off-road, the all-wheel drive system is not even available as an option. However, the manufacturer offers three modes of operation of the electronics: Normal, Eco and Slippery, where the latter automatically adjusts the traction control and stability of the car under conditions of minimal adhesion to the roadway (for example, on snow or ice).

The use of optimized shock absorbers and springs deserves special attention, which made it possible to increase the level of comfort and maintain the controllability of the "civil" modification.

The steering mechanism is supplemented with an electric booster, and front disc brakes with a ventilation system and rear drum-type mechanisms (on the version with a capacity of 100 hp and more - disc brakes) are responsible for decelerating the car.

Ford's management traditionally places great emphasis on the safety of their cars, and the new Fiesta Active is no exception, which allows it to give odds to most of its competitors. The list of security systems includes the following options:
