As promised by the representatives of the project "Cortege", for the first time a completely new presidential limousine Aurus Senat 2019 was officially shown at the inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The new limousine was produced in Russia from scratch and is completely made from domestic components. The Cortege project was founded back in 2012 and the main condition was the development of a domestically produced car from scratch, that is, from a blank sheet of paper. For the Russian automotive industry, this was an unbearable task, but as you can see, the problem has been solved (read also the review of the new Aurus Senat 2018-2019.).
In appearance, the designers decided to stylize the new Aurus Senat under the previously known Stalinist ZIS-110, released after the war years for transporting government officials. The NAMI bureau became the developer of the new limousine, but foreign partners were also involved. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has disclosed only the main details of the new Aurus Senat limousine; very, very little is known about the interior of the novelty. Judging from the photos and the appointment, it becomes clear that the Aurus Senat 2019 car is fully armored, according to reliable data its weight is 6.5 tons, which is an order of magnitude more than the same armored vehicles of the Mercedes-Benz or BMW brand.

If you believe such dimensions, the new Aurus Senat limousine can be considered the largest presidential limousine in the world, and a considerable ground clearance will exclude the most unpredictable situations. The exterior of the new Aurus Senat 2019 turned out to be stylish and modern, as mentioned, many details were taken from the ZIS-110. If you look closely, you can recognize Rolls-Royce and Bentley in some details. No less interest is attracted by the front optics of the limousine, at first glance they are completely unique. But if you recall the previously known brands, then there are many similarities with the Chrysler 300c 2018, with a slightly reduced C-shaped notch on the sides. In addition to the optics, the front end of the Aurus Senat is distinguished by a huge chrome grille with a "mustache" extending to the sides.
What the engine of the serial armored limousine Aurus Senat will be is still a mystery, but what the manufacturers have hidden under the hood of the presidential limousine is already known. Initially, it was supposed to install a petrol V8 from Porsche, but then they decided to install a 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine of our own design in tandem with an electric motor. Thus, it turns out that under the hood of the Aurus Senat 2019 is a hybrid unit with a total capacity of 598 horses.
The Aurus Senat 2019 engine is paired with four-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic transmission, also developed on the territory of Russia. According to the manufacturer, such an automatic transmission can handle up to 1000 Nm of torque. Another feature of such a box is the absence of a torque converter, the transmission of torque is carried out due to 4 planetary gear sets, which significantly increases the efficiency of the automatic transmission Aurus Senat 2019.
Earlier it was assumed that the board "1" will be equipped with a gasoline V12 with a volume of 6.6 liters and a capacity of 856 horses. The basis for the new Aurus Senat limousine was armored wheels, with special tires, according to engineers, even with a large hole, the limousine is able to travel about 100 km.
Little is known about the interior of the new Aurus Senat 2019, according to some reports, only natural materials were used in the cabin. The seat upholstery is made of quality leather, and the perimeter inserts are made of natural wood and gilded details. The center of the panel is occupied by the touchscreen display of the multimedia system, the basis for the Aurus Senat 2019 system will be a new proprietary operating system. In addition to the armored body and glass, the Aurus Senat security system is quite well thought out, this is immediately noticeable by the radars and sensors near the central mirror in the cabin, several more sensors are installed in the front, near the radiator grill.
Under the side mirrors of the Aurus Senat 2019, side cameras are visible, which once again indicates the presence of multimedia in the limousine's cabin. The seats have undergone significant revision, they say that the manufacturer has abandoned the "ottoman" (footrest), arguing that the head of state will be embarrassed while getting out of the car. In the serial version, it will still be installed. Another in-house refinement is the Aurus Senat 2019 quick-response electrically adjustable rear seats. If necessary, it quickly unfolds into a flat platform, thereby further protecting the passenger.
Officially, the price of the new Aurus Senat 2019 limousine has not yet been announced. The manufacturer said that the start will be from 10 million rubles. A car of this class will be 20% cheaper than a new Rolls-Royce or Bentley, but at the same time more expensive than a new Mercedes-Benz S Class. The starting price of the S Class starts at 6,810,090 rubles, the base Mercedes-Maybach S Class will cost a little more, starting at 8,700,000 rubles. In the near future, they promise to present a new sedan and SUV Aurus. The first production cars of the Aurus Senat limousine will go on sale in the first quarter of 2019.
